Happy Hands

These were made for a swap that I joined.  If you haven't traced you hand since you were in grade school you just have to do it...all those memory's of your youth will come flooding in. The Art Quote is on the back so you are looking at both sides of two hands.  This swap was 6 for 6 and I think I will make alittle book.
Today was my morning to read the blogs of my friends and leave a note so they will know that I stopped by.  It is so fun to feel the connection of others even thought we have never met face to face.  It is a wonderful time we are living in.  And for a short time we can pretend that all is right with the world.  Peace.......DIANE

SHARE YOUR JOY

I just wanted to share with you an altered matchbox that I received in a swap. The artist Robin Sanchez gave me permission to take some pictures and share with you what a wonderful little matchbox I was lucky to receive. Robin and I first traded art in Oct. 08, when she signed up for a swap I was hosting at flicker "Got Bling". Her work just charms me, the colors she uses and the professional quality of her work really stands out. She taught me that the back of these 4 x 4 chunky book pages should be as interesting and beautiful as the front. A sticker with your name on it just isn't enough, she really raised the bar for me.

I made up a little story about my matchbox........It's a LOVE STORY about a man and a woman. He said he would love her til the end of the earth. He gave her a promise and the key to his heart. Then she found all these other pictures of beautiful women in his wallet....THE END......DIANE

HERE COMES THE BLING....

Well, the top picture is all the loose pages organized by maker. They were swapped out last night until about 11:30. I ran out of bubble wrap so I will have to bring some home from work tonight and the others will be in the mail tomorrow....It was a bigger project than I thought it would be but very fun. I have to admire those who host multiple swaps and the really big swaps with more than 20 people....But I knew what I was getting into after being a player in many swaps over the last couple of years. I will host another one as soon as I think of a good theme and after the holidays when everyone has a little more time. Stay tuned...................Diane

Cookie Monster

This is a postcard I made for the Amusing Muses at Flickr. It is winter theme. The little girl is our great niece who is soon to be two...can't you just see the mischief in her?

This morning my dear husband brought me the mail from the weekend and lo and behold the two last Got Bling? swap members arrived...OMg.....................now the fun starts for me...I am bummed that I have to go to work, I would rather stay home and sort them which may take a day or so before I get them all boxed up........Getting Excited?????? Whisper

In just a few days all the pages for the Got Bling swap will be here and the fun for me starts. Sorting through all the beauties, each and every one a special little piece of art......I have been punching the pages as they arrived so I am all caught up on that. They are all neat and orderly in their boxes waiting for the last three packages to arrive..just a few more days. Art-On.................Diane

Got Bling Swap

Oh I have kept a few surprises for you..................I had fun making this lovely. Her face is bling enough and then she wore the pearls.

I have been wanting one and lo and behold she made one as a Hostess gift for me....how lucky can I get. I haven't gotten it in my grubby little hand yet but can't wait for it to get up the mountain to me.....

There are still some people who signed up who are MIA but I am always hopeful and for my very first swap I am overjoyed at the turn out, overwhelmed by the art work and I am sure to be stressed in a good way before it is mailed back to the players..

I couldn't say earlier but it is because of the loss of my friend Carol that I started this swap. I realised how precious time is and thought JUST DO IT.....Love to all my art friends. Diane

GOODBYE SEPTEMBER

" RED.....A color whose hue resembles that of blood or of the ruby or is that of the long-wave extreme of the visible spectrum. In the color range between a moderate orange and a russet or bay". ( Webster )The red rose will be gone but replaced with leaves of gold and bright orange, some red. Sound so poetic and looking so beautiful. Changing the color of the mornings. Shadows that are longer. And then the M E S S ......WORK, RAKE, BURN. Love fall.

I LOVE BLING

Pretty in pink, I think!!!.....I just love this photograph. I would love to know the history behind it. Was she a movie STAR? Anyway she almost didn't need any Bling with her dress and hair and fancy hat. This is a 4" X 4" Chunky book page. It will be punched on the upper left side and held together with a binder ring that opens so you can add pages if you want. She has more yarn and beads that hang from the right side that don't show in this photo.. Think Pink Today...Diane

Hat Bling

Talk about a big hat....did anyone really wear something like this??? At least for anything other than a photo shoot? Still I love this photo, she doesn't really have her nose in the air....it is the only way she could support the weight of this hat...teehee. Dream of Bling

Well, I sent of a couple of bags of bling to a couple of people that wanted to join the swap, but thought they didn't have any bling to use....I have a ton of broken and miss matched bits and pieces of jewelry. If anyone else wants to join and feel that they need some let me know. POST NUMBER 80

Today my blog hit 80........It has been so much fun and I have worked to keep it Art Focused and still somewhat intimate. I have made a lot of new friends and have been touched by their openness, overwhelmed by their artistic ability and charmed by their kindness.

It has brought a new feeling of accomplishment to my life and a great stress reliever as well. There are times when I wonder if anyone is out there, and other times when I realise it is a rather selfish pleasure that I have all to myself.

This is a fun 4 x 4 Chunky book page that I made for the Got Bling swap...I call it "Jungle Bling" One day I didn't have anything in my mind I found this flower part and wondered what it would be like to stamp it. It sat on my work table for a long time before it found its way on to this piece. Makes me know why I have so much stuff out on my table. Sooner or later they find a place on my art. Have a creative weekend......Diane

HERE COMES THE BLING....

Oh..........these are fun. Here is my Bling Bride. The photo was in my Grandmother's photo album. I think she was a niece. What a wonderful gown and the bouquet is beautiful. Full length vail....so elegant. I know these were not wealthy people but nothing was too much for their daughter. It would cost a fortune now days for a gown and vail like this.
