The Eyes Have It

This one was fun....The glasses were given to me in a grab bag swap. They were little Zero's from some alphabet set. I just clipped off the little pegs that were on the back. I used Diamond glaze to seal everything the chain is really cool with these gold color links that came off some vintage jewelry, two vintage dice and her "hat" was some found object with some watch parts.
Have a blessed Sunday.........................DIANE

Gypsie's, Tramps and Thieves

Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves is the theme for the latest swap that I am in.. The work that everyone it putting into this swap is fantastic. A group of very talented artist that I am proud to be associated with. A fun group full of banter and laughter. Lots of ideas to keep the creative juices flowing.
Well I have lost a few things in the mail lately. After two years of swapping art through the mail it has finally happened to me. I just sent a postcard inside an envelope for protection and it didn't make it to the person. She thinks maybe someone is taking it out of her mailbox so it is no fault of the U.S.P.O.

Silent Screen Beauties

Beauties of the Silent Screen was the challenge I joined for a postcard swap. Oh...yes and Zetti her too. I wanted to use this image and so the only Zetti thing is of course her stripe stockings. However the hat and fan are Zetti fun items too. I was afraid to mail her without an envelope because of the copper door(German Scrap) and black paper German scrap on the top of the card. Have a fun filled weekend. Relax and enjoy the changing weather. Hugs, Diane

Jewels and Bling and Sparkly Things

Here I go again spending time going through photos that I have taken of different fun things. This is Stella....I had just gotten her and didn't have anything to dress her in so I took one of my slips a very old lacy table scarf and some beaded fruit that my sister had given me. She looks different now, with winter and all I put a beaded jacket on her. I have used her to display all the necklaces that I have made and she is a fun addition to my art room. Have a Sparkly Day....Diane

Circus Circus Circus

These are three of the six Chunky Book pages I made for a swap. Of course the theme was
Circus. I love the vintage images I found in a book I bought at Barns and Noble. "The Victorian Scrap Gallery" It is a beautiful book by Dee Davis and Gail B. Cooper. All the images are printed on one side of the page only do you can cut them out I guess, or maybe because they print better that way. I could never cut them out it is such a lovely book.

ATC'S Artist Trading Cards

These are the first ATC's I have made in awhile..I have been working mostly on larger sizes so this was a fun project. They are all made for a swap I am in at another site. These exchanges keep the ideas flowing and the challenge always on. It is a way to exchange ideas and art with others and make new friend. The ATC is 2.5 x 3.5, the same size as the baseball card that have been traded for years. I have done a new size 5 x 5 just for fun and will share them with you later. Meanwhile ART ON PEOPLE.......................................DIANE

This is the last in a series of six for my"Man in the Moon" project. This is my favorite. I am not sure what is next on my studio table...I have a funny beach scene in progress, it is a 6" X 12" canvas.

I have taken a little break and started making a baby Quilt. It is about half finished. It is bright and fun and I can't wait to finish it..........................Seek Joy Today......Diane

MR. MOON

Here is another of my SUGARED MOON's. Not sure what I am gonna do today but I had better get after it.....By the time I have breakfast at the computer and check my e-mail an hour has gone by and I haven't even dried my hair, but I am dressed for the day in my favorite baggie pants and sloppy sweatshirt. I have a small blank canvas I can work on or maybe I'll make some 4"X4" CHUNKY BOOK PAGES......Have an artful day.................Diane

House of the Rising Moon

House of the Rising Moon. I am having so much fun with these little houses. You just have to get on a kick when you find something that is fun, and when you get to a point that you are having fun and like the end result you should just challenge yourself to think of a lot of ways to use the image that delights you...This Moon does that for me..It is being used a lot in the world of Altered Art. I have a few of my favorite artist that use the moon in their creations and I just love it and wanted to use it too but I didn't want it to be the same as theirs so I thought and thought of how I could use it and make it mine....I hope I don't see it popping up everywhere but if I do I hope it is original.......Diane

Got Bling Swap

Oh I have kept a few surprises for you..................I had fun making this lovely. Her face is bling enough and then she wore the pearls.

Sandy posted her pages over at flickr
http://flickr.com/photos/artsygemini/2912764289/in/pool-793762@N25 They are all fantastic but this one holds a special place in my heart....She has been making these Jesters for quite awhile and they are so uniquely SANDY. I have been wanting one and lo and behold she made one as a Hostess gift for me....how lucky can I get. I haven't gotten it in my grubby little hand yet but can't wait for it to get up the mountain to me.....

There are still some people who signed up who are MIA but I am always hopeful and for my very first swap I am overjoyed at the turn out, overwhelmed by the art work and I am sure to be stressed in a good way before it is mailed back to the players..

I couldn't say earlier but it is because of the loss of my friend Carol that I started this swap. I realised how precious time is and thought JUST DO IT.....Love to all my art friends. Diane

I LOVE PARIS IN THE SUMMER

The thought of going to Paris thrills me. I am sure I will never make it there but I can dream. Being on an airplane for so many hours really does me in. I don't think I could stand that many hours flying. Four or five hours to get to Hawaii is about all I can take. So I guess international travel is out for me...This postcard was fun and I am really happy with the way she turned out. Yes little buddy......I am hooked on postcards. Have a Cutting edge day......Diane

I LOVE BLING

Pretty in pink, I think!!!.....I just love this photograph. I would love to know the history behind it. Was she a movie STAR? Anyway she almost didn't need any Bling with her dress and hair and fancy hat. This is a 4" X 4" Chunky book page. It will be punched on the upper left side and held together with a binder ring that opens so you can add pages if you want. She has more yarn and beads that hang from the right side that don't show in this photo.. Think Pink Today...Diane

RARE FLOWER

This beautiful Orchid just had to find it's way into my art. It was taken from "The Victorian Scrap Gallery" book. The book is by Dee Davis and Gail B. Cooper and was bargain priced at Barn and Nobel for only 6.98............what a bargain. It has many lovely pictures in it. It is made for the collage artist so all the copyrights are clear. It is a beautiful book and I just scan from it as I could never cut up the book itself. Have a creative weekend......Hugs, Diane

Nothing is Worth More Than This Day

Postcard art is catching on with a fever. The size is 4" x 6" which is a great size for your art work. Although the 1" x 1" is also having a big following, at my age they are a bit too small for my eyes. I have made many Artist Trading Cards, they are fun and at 2.5 x 3" they are easy to work on and fun to collect. I have a large binder full of them. I have been collecting them for about two years now. I love the Chunky Book Pages too. I find for myself that I need to mix it up a bit or I get board...I always like to try new things and need to start a large canvas any time soon. Have BLESSED DAY......Diane

Three Minutes of Wonderful

Once again here is my Sunday Postcard. The challenge was to alter a real postcard. The old postcard I used was a pair of Sarus Cranes. The postcard was from the Bird Park on Santa Catalina Island, California. I am not sure the date of the postcard but the place to put you stamp is one cent....Have a JOY FULL day....Diane

Hat Bling

Talk about a big hat....did anyone really wear something like this??? At least for anything other than a photo shoot? Still I love this photo, she doesn't really have her nose in the air....it is the only way she could support the weight of this hat...teehee. This is another 4 x 4 Chunky book page for my swap "Got Bling" Enjoy your day...think in color..........Diane

Dream of Bling

Well, I sent of a couple of bags of bling to a couple of people that wanted to join the swap, but thought they didn't have any bling to use....I have a ton of broken and miss matched bits and pieces of jewelry. If anyone else wants to join and feel that they need some let me know. Also it doesn't have to be jewelry.......you can use sparkly buttons, charms, beads and of course glitter...CHECK THIS OUT TO SEE SOME OF THE ENTRY'S http://flickr.com/groups/793762@N25/

HERE COMES THE BLING....

Oh..........these are fun. Here is my Bling Bride. The photo was in my Grandmother's photo album. I think she was a niece. What a wonderful gown and the bouquet is beautiful. Full length vail....so elegant. I know these were not wealthy people but nothing was too much for their daughter. It would cost a fortune now days for a gown and vail like this. Coffeelatte http://flickr.com/photos/telltaleheart/ is the newest member to this swap and we are excited to have her...Anyone else out there wanna join there are still several spots open...Art-On. Diane .........WhooHoo.....just found out that Cathy has signed up too....http://flickr.com/photos/22815284@N02/ Thanks Cathy glad to have your art here.
