Really I did escape when I did this canvas. It was so fun. It is done on a stretched canvas 11 x 16 a mixed media collage. Hope you enjoy her.

ATC'S Artist Trading Cards

These are the first ATC's I have made in awhile..I have been working mostly on larger sizes so this was a fun project. They are all made for a swap I am in at another site. These exchanges keep the ideas flowing and the challenge always on. It is a way to exchange ideas and art with others and make new friend. The ATC is 2.5 x 3.5, the same size as the baseball card that have been traded for years. I have done a new size 5 x 5 just for fun and will share them with you later. Shasta Lake

You might say the LAKE IS LOW.....I couldn't believe how far they had to drive down to get to the water. Still it is beautiful. The air was unseasonable warm, just a touch of breeze. No crowds, just fresh air and beauty. The rain today and yesterday is a blessing, but much more is needed to get us up to a normal season. Rain or Snow..........have a beautiful day. Diane

Four Pretties and a Valentine

We had a lovely trip to the city. Four nights and five days, ate like little piggies, went to two movies two different nights and had a blast at the thrift stores and of course the art store. I think I gained 4 pounds.........ah but it was fun. Lattes every morning yummmm I will miss them but now I can go back on my black coffee and cold cereal.

I found four lovely little pieces of jewelry...I just had to have the Statue Of Liberty...with my birthstone. I was born in New York City, but left when I was two and somehow I still feel connected to the place. The brass cupid I just had to have for Valentines Day and of course I can't pass up the little rhinestone pins..The little girl Valentine is in great shape and the arms and legs move, it is handwritten on the back from the 1930's. The vintage photo is a beautiful woman with outstanding furniture. Have a Beautiful Day. Diane

What is New

My jewelry for sale has been up-dated for a new sale that is coming up. I received a new camera for Christmas from my Dear Husband and I have been having fun learning how to use it. I re-photographed some of my jewelry for sale and it took some good close-ups of each piece with their little gift bag. These photos were all hand held using the macro setting. The camera is a Nikon Coolpix S60. It is RED.......I love it.....Hopefully it will help me sell some of my jewelry.....

Sunset 2009

This time of year we have the prettiest Sunsets. Took this on my walk home from work the other night. The colors were so beautiful with the black silhouette of the tree. Beautiful way to end the day. This is the last in a series of six for my"Man in the Moon" project. This is my favorite. I am not sure what is next on my studio table...I have a funny beach scene in progress, it is a 6" X 12" canvas.


I have taken a little break and started making a baby Quilt. It is about half finished. It is bright and fun and I can't wait to finish it..........................Seek Joy Today......Diane

Art Gives Me Wings

I had great plans for this morning before I went to work.....but I got hung up trying to track down a PayPal payment on my Etsy acct. Etsy emailed me I had a sale....the buyer emailed me about the sale.......but PayPal doesn't have the money....Don't really know what to do. The buyer is in Australia and I don't want her to be without her goodies but I don't want to be out the money either...I spent 45 minutes or more trying to track down the payment thru PP .................Guess I will try again when I have more time. Meanwhile...I am happy that I had a sale and hope to have this figured out soon....Art-On People..........Diane

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Well these little 4"x 6" Chunky Houses are really fun to make..I have been moving in between working small and a few larger pieces. I enjoy different sizes of work. Larger sometimes gives me more freedom. Have a beautiful weekend................................Diane

MR. MOON

Here is another of my SUGARED MOON's. Not sure what I am gonna do today but I had better get after it.....By the time I have breakfast at the computer and check my e-mail an hour has gone by and I haven't even dried my hair, but I am dressed for the day in my favorite baggie pants and sloppy sweatshirt. I have a small blank canvas I can work on or maybe I'll make some 4"X4" CHUNKY BOOK PAGES......Have an artful day.................Diane

House of the Rising Moon

House of the Rising Moon. I am having so much fun with these little houses. You just have to get on a kick when you find something that is fun, and when you get to a point that you are having fun and like the end result you should just challenge yourself to think of a lot of ways to use the image that delights you...This Moon does that for me..It is being used a lot in the world of Altered Art. I have a few of my favorite artist that use the moon in their creations and I just love it and wanted to use it too but I didn't want it to be the same as theirs so I thought and thought of how I could use it and make it mine....I hope I don't see it popping up everywhere but if I do I hope it is original.......Diane

Messy Day

Yesterday took me back to my Mother's home when I was 16 years old...I was working in my bedroom doing a large collage and spilled a cup of glue on her carpet. What a mess...I was rushing around trying to clean it up and get it out of the carpet. Maybe she wouldn't notice. Ya right!! I could never sneak anything past my Mom....Anyway yesterday I put the lid on a brand new 32 oz. jar of GOLDEN MATTE MEDIUM and you know the rest...the lid was not on tight and the whole jar fell to the floor and B O U N C E D--------spreading the white stuff everywhere even the bottom of my chair, the magazines on the floor everywhere!!! I just about cried. I grabbed a sheet of stiff card stock and scooped the biggest pile up and back into the jar. Along with all the other little bits and pieces that an art room floor has, thus contaminating the whole jar I am sure.........My dear husband heard me scream or cuss or something and came in and helped me clean the mess up...Oh well...S tuff happens and then more S tuff happens.
This little house shaped card is 4" X 6" I made a set of six in all and will share them later..CREATE and SHINE.. Diane

Hello 2009

The new year is like a bare branch. Ready to be created. Somewhat the same as last year, but hopeful in its newness. A time for new growth to flourish, new beginnings and promises to make.
