Outstanding Stranger said...: Yes, My brother was in Nam in the 60's I am not sure what years..but around 1966 65 I think. He was in Da Nang. He was a medic and has had years trying to get past everything he has seen. Never talks about it. He has been fighting Lymphoma from Agent Orange. Right now he is in remission. Cathy Spivey Mendola said...: My brother made it home safely but with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome although at that time they hadn't come up with that diagnosis. He suffered for years with the visions of the war and began drinking too much. He died in 1985, 3 days after his 35th birthday :( Leaving behind a wife and 2 kids. His kids are grown and have kids of their own now.
Not a day goes by that I don't think of him.

Outstanding Stranger said...: Oh Kathy I am so sorry. My husbands brother was there too and came home with a drug addition. He died 4 years ago from a drug overdose and years of drugs did damage to his body. He was a good loving Christian man, with a wife and two daughters. Its so sad.
