Family Treasures

Well this little beauty should receive her little fat book in a bag any day now. The blank book was purchased and blinged up.. The bag was machine appliqued.   I am new to sewing and this is my new machine that I got for Christmas. I am sure it does more things than I will use but it is fun to try different stitches.  I did make a small quilt but the tension was not right.  In fact I had the bobbin in wrong so it missed a few stitches.  I was having so much fun that I wasn't very precise matching my corners..Oh well I have no where to go but up. WHAT A FUN SWAP

I received my returns from the latest swap I was in and boy was it fun. I just love my returns they are all so different. It was fun doing a bird shape. I wasn't sure how I would put them together. Some people were going to make a mobile and some a book, where do you bind them? They were facing in different directions and I had thought I would ring them at the top but didn't like the way they would flip because of the different direction of the head and tail. So I choose to ring them at the tail, I like to bind them because then I can hang the whole group together and flip through them anytime. I made one for myself to keep and since I am into STEAMPUNK at the moment I made the BROWN BIRD with the watch parts and the heavy metal beak which was a rusty something-or-another I found in the backyard. Seek Joy and Laughter

Laughter is a healing force that leads to JOY. December is a month to seek Joy and Laughter with friends and family not stress of shopping and cooking and cleaning...Learn to say no to stress by just letting something go. If you are running out of time and didn't get the refrigerator clean just pass a warm wet cloth over the most obvious shelves and do the deep cleaning after the first of the year....make food dishes that can be prepared 2 or 3 days ahead. Don't be afraid to ask for help from a family member. They may not do it just like you but let some control go....it will be good enough. And really....how perfect does vacuuming have to be? Most of all save time for yourself...Do your nails. Get your hair done. Do some Art. You will enjoy your family more if you are stress free and relaxed. The laughter will come easy and Joy will be with you through out the new year..........Hugs, Diane

Goodies for my Guest

These are the goodies that will be sent out with the returns for the "Got Bling Swap" My friend thought I went overboard................maybe.................but it was so much fun and my very first job at hosting and I wanted it to be special....so everyone will be getting a little surprise from me...

However..............Two returns are still out and I am sure hoping they get here Monday...If it wasn't for the fact that they are both amazing artist I wouldn't hold this whole thing up. But believe me when I say this was a great group and I have been in many swaps before... So hang in there a few more days and I promise you will be HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY....Hugs, Diane

How Cute is This?

This is my dog Tilly with her beanie baby. She was so little. I am getting puppy fever again so I thought I would share this picture of her when she was a baby....Seven years ago....

She is such a good little dog. Every Halloween she has a new costume and I just got hers. How does a pretty princess in PINK....sound? We have a parade with the grade school kids and they walk through town with their costumes. Everybody lines the street to watch them and it is always fun to hear them yelling and pointing to Tilly.....Also that way I don't have to dress up..Sorry Carol :)

Tilly is now 10 pounds, of spoiled rotten, overly loved puppy dog. A big part of our family the one that makes us laugh daily with her antics. Start the week with a Hug.......Diane

GOODBYE SEPTEMBER

( Webster )The red rose will be gone but replaced with leaves of gold and bright orange, some red. Sound so poetic and looking so beautiful. Changing the color of the mornings. Shadows that are longer. And then the M E S S ......WORK, RAKE, BURN. Love fall.

I LOVE BLING

Pretty in pink, I think!!!.....I just love this photograph. I would love to know the history behind it. Was she a movie STAR? Anyway she almost didn't need any Bling with her dress and hair and fancy hat. This is a 4" X 4" Chunky book page. It will be punched on the upper left side and held together with a binder ring that opens so you can add pages if you want. She has more yarn and beads that hang from the right side that don't show in this photo.. Think Pink Today...Diane

Beauty All Around Us

I just wanted to share a couple of shots that I got while over on the coast. These were taken at our hotel, I love the Neptune fountain and the great piece of drift wood. We stopped in the Redwoods while over there. They are so grand and you really feel small in the whole picture of things. After all they have lived here for 100's of years, if you cut one down dozens come back on the stump and they have to be tested by fire before a seed can even grow.
Now I am feeling bad that I didn't even go to the beach while I was there.......It was so o o o o windy I don't think I could have stood still to take a picture, and the beach will be there next time..... but those buys that I got while antiquing would not... I received my first returns for the GOT BLING SWAP. And I am telling you they are great, and its not too late to join. There are only 9 members and I would love 10 people, really open for 15 and its still early so if you like making 4x4 pages or would like to try them, sign up.... Have an artful day. Diane

Hat Bling

Talk about a big hat....did anyone really wear something like this??? At least for anything other than a photo shoot? Still I love this photo, she doesn't really have her nose in the air....it is the only way she could support the weight of this hat...teehee. Dream of Bling

Well, I sent of a couple of bags of bling to a couple of people that wanted to join the swap, but thought they didn't have any bling to use....I have a ton of broken and miss matched bits and pieces of jewelry. If anyone else wants to join and feel that they need some let me know.
