Bragg'n For A Friend...Wahhooo
My humble friend Marsha was published in Nov. Dec. issue of
Somerset Studio. I was in Barns and Noble with my dear Husband getting all my favorite Magazines. I picked up the new SOMERSET STUDIO and thumbed through it like I always do and lo and behold I see full pages of some of my favorite art. Not one, not two but count them four full pages....yeaaaaaa. Huge full color lovely Queens with Wings, in her one of a kind art with a Holiday Message. I am so delighted for Marsha. She works so hard to give up new art to use in our own creations. She is one of my favorite people here in my little corner of the world. A most modest and generous Artist. CONGRATULATIONS MARSHA AT TUMBLEFISH STUDIO. http://tumblefishstudio.blogspot.com/ Stop by and see her new header. It is dreamy. Well I am off to work after a 4 day holiday ugg. Oh...some day I hope to see Diane Glass in Somerset Studio or one of their other wonder publications...Art Hugs.....................DIANE

Back to Earth
16 X 20 Canvas Collage "Sunny" My grandniece Brindi not for sale copyright by me.
Well I am finally coming back to Earth after my first art show. I almost have everything put back in its place. It was a lot of work getting everything together, planning everything and the nerves of being exposed in public. I had a lot of canvas' that were not for sale because they are my family. I think I could have sold more if I could have parted with them, however I did receive two commissions from them. I will start working on them soon, meanwhile I had to take a week off to be with my husband and just rest.....we left town for a R and R for 5 days....glorious days rain and all. I finally got to go to Barns and Noble to by my copy's of SOMERSET STUDIO...where I was excited to finally see my friend Marsha's work on page 107. Her style is bright and wonderful and her new stuff is exciting, whimsical and humorous. If you haven't seen her work check out Somerset Studio or you can go to her blog http://tumblefishstudio.blogspot.com/
I really went hog wild at the book store this time...Must have been awhile since I got to buy my magazines. I bought SOMERSET LIFE and two of their new publications MARIE and WHERE WOMEN CREATE with Marie Osmond of the cover. I thought it was their first issue but I guess it is their second. As usual they are beautiful and full of wonderful and useful art and articles. They will keep me busy and happy for a long time as I go through them many times and always find something new and beautiful.

MY FIRST ART SHOW

The Enchanted Florist and Tea Room did a lovely job hosting my very first art show. It was two days of Friends, Food and Fun. I am really overwhelmed with the love that was shown me. The majority of people had no idea that I did any kind of art. Just my closest friends have seen my work until this show. It was a big step for me and I can't tell you how glad I am that I finally did it and I strongly encourage all my art friends to promote yourself in your local communities. If your community has a library a Tea Shop or Gift shop gather your art together and SHARE YOUR JOY.....You won't be disappointed. Big Art Hugs, Diane

Jewels and Bling and Sparkly Things
Here I go again spending time going through photos that I have taken of different fun things. This is Stella....I had just gotten her and didn't have anything to dress her in so I took one of my slips a very old lacy table scarf and some beaded fruit that my sister had given me. She looks different now, with winter and all I put a beaded jacket on her. I have used her to display all the necklaces that I have made and she is a fun addition to my art room. Have a Sparkly Day....DianeMonday, February 2, 2009
Art Trader Magazine
PUBLISHED ART
How exciting....I entered a contest in October over at Mail Art World http://www.mailartworld.com/ and even thought I didn't win the contest my Postcard was published in the ART TRADER MAGAZINE http://www.arttradermag.com/ issue number 5 on page 31. Now most of you know I am not a big fan of Halloween and you know about my lovely friend Carol who was a big fan of the holiday and so you know why I entered this Halloween Postcard contest.
I am very impressed with this magazine. It is an on line magazine but I understand it is soon to go hard copy and we will be able to buy it right along with our many Somerset publications.
