Chunky Book pages

Today my chunky pages go in the mail. I wanted to take a picture of all of them together. They look so fluffy and cool...I can't wait to get mine. These were made for a swap at ATC's for All. It was very fun and I am looking forward to trading a few more. They are 4" X 4" .
Our satellite is down this morning and has not been working for a few days now..I think it is from the smoke in the air from the fires. So I am back on dial-up and really feeling the difference..I got spoiled in a hurry. Especially looking at every one's blog. Quite a lot slower.

Swim Anyone?

Well I have been going thru my art to see what I would up load today and got rather sidetracked....did a little house cleaning on my pc. Gathered up like subjects and re-filed them. Grouped some family all in one album, that sorta thing. Of course this means time spent that I really didn't have before I go to work. Maybe I could have called this posts drowning in digital....Have a Blessed Day.

Forest Fire 2001

We are still smoked in here but thankful that the fire is still pretty much all around us. There are so many fires. The town is full of Firefighters and equipment. They have made base camp at our Fair Grounds.

I found some old pictures of the Hyampom Fire back in 2001. That was the year I got my little dog. My husband and I had pretty much decided we wouldn't have a dog. Our experience with our first dog didn't work out that good. With both of us working, we had to find a home for her....we just didn't fit into HER lifestyle. Wrong breed for us....learned alot that time. Never get a cute little black puppy from a box in front of the market. Anyway.... come to find out it was a cattle dog. She would nip at my heels in the house. Thought it was cute at first....... Also thought it was cute that it would jump up to my face when I got home....at first.

Husband was gone on the fire for several days and I, in a weak moment, said yes to this little puppy. He wasn't even surprised, probably more surprised that we lasted dog-less for as long as we did. Now I don't know what we would do without her.

Little Yellow Dresses

I just had to make some of these little dresses. They looked so cute. I have been seeing them around and thought I would try them. Mine aren't as fancy as some of the ones that I have seen but I got it out of my system. These are big...about 5.5 inches. It was fun to make the little copper hanger.

FOREST FIRE

Well with the many fires in our area and the very smokey sky I thought I would share what the morning sky looks like here. Not as bad as a few years ago when you couldn't see across the street.

I mailed several things yesterday. Two Etsy sales.....and a few solo swaps and two group swaps.. Ended up costing me about 20 bucks pretty cheap entertainment.

ALTERED ROLODEX CARD

I haven't made any rolo's lately. They are very fun and I love them. It's just that the frenzie of trading at Atc's For All was just abit overwhelming. Many amazing artist, it would have to be full time for me and I just couldn't keep up. Anyway this was made for a personal trade, I may have to make some more after my little break.

Bernie Berlin

This morning there was a program about the man who trained and rehabilitated dogs that he rescues from the animal shelters. Many of his dogs were made famous over the years by being in Broadway productions and movies. This reminded me of Bernie Berlin...If you haven't heard of her you should see her web site. She is LOVELY and LOVING and I wish she was my neighbor. She rescues animals. Some have been abused and would be put to death and she heals them with love and kindness. Oh......and did I mention she does some awesome art too. This is my little tribute to her this morning. I did a collage of my brother and I from a photo that was taken back in the mid 1950's. My first dog, Queenie......she had 9 puppies and packed them up on my brothers bed. He awoke to little squeaks and grunts. She licked them all clean. In his sleepiness he thought she was eating them.

VACATION VINTAGE STYLE

My niece graduates High School today. Wish I could have been there but our business keeps us pretty close to home. I took a quick look at her "My Space" page this morning. I can't say I approve of some of it but I guess you can't really wrap them in a bubble to keep them safe. All tho she only uses her first name one of her friends posted her last name. Then her town was mentioned further down, and possibly where she works. Humm. Its a bigger world now, we played hide and seek until just dark, running all through the neighbour hood. That's how big our world was then, two blocks maybe three.

4 X 4 Chunky Book "Words of Wisdom"

These are sure fun to make I think I am catching on. I had my husband get me a drill bit to drill holes for the yarn and beads. I was using an exacto knife at first, not as neat. When I get my returns I will drill them too. I have a few people that I would like to trade one on one with so you may be seeing more of these here. I posted one before I put all the fluff n stuff on it so you could read the quote .

Three More Days Til Father's Day

With Father's Day just a couple of day's away I thought I would share something I made of my father-in-law who passed away a few years ago. I just love the way they dressed their baby's, even the boys were frilly. I thought the background was beautiful so I used an element that was similar. I thought the silver plated tray would make a nice frame and I used chipboard letters for his initials that I embossed with the heat gun in silver.

June Moon and lots of Glitter

These were very fun to make. I made a few different ones but my favorite was the one I used my little great niece as the subject matter. She was wearing a little princess costume with a crown so the rest was easy.

4 X 4 Chunky Book "Words of Wisdom"

Well I started my Chunky Book pages today for the Words of Wisdom Swap at ATCS For ALL. Amyfaerie is the hostess for this swap and might I say quite the artist. I traded Rolodex cards with her and really loved what she made for me. Really original and different.

Each page should have a famous quote on it, any subject that you choose. I have never made a 4x4 but have been looking at them thinking how fun they would be, and they are fun. I am posting my first two out of six. One is finished, but I couldn't scan all the ribbon and beads on the side. Lost the picture of the subject when I did, so they will be a surprise and the second one is a WIP and I will show it again when it is done...http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3601

I have been biding on her stuff for weeks now and have been outbid several times I finally got one on the buy it now button and the other two I won with my highest bid....I am doing the happy dance. Now I need to figure out a beautiful way to protect and display them. Please check out her work at http://flickr.com/photos/jupiterdesigns/

Vintage Lady's

I love vintage photos. They are all so fun to work with. These three were entered into a swap. I was happy with the way they turned out...that is rare because I am my worst or harshest critic.

Oh yes, I received my aceo's that I bought on e-bay. I will have to check with the artist and see if I can post them. They are fantastic.

Zettiology 101

When I first learned about Zetti's a couple of years ago the first thing that came up on Google was Teesa Moore...I loved looking at her work it was so "off the wall " different, enchanting. I loved the ones with stripey legs. The black and white just popped. They were mystical and imaginary with Pointy hats and wings. One of the first swaps I joined was a swap at an ATC site that has since closed. Today I Googled "Zettiology" and came up with hundreds of sites foremost Flickr. Lots of atc swaps and groups. Here are the last two of my Zetti in a Gothic Arch.

Here are two more of my Gothic Arches with the Zetti theme. They were really fun and I loved making them I have the template. There were three different shapes I made 2 shapes, three of each shape.
